The penny postcard to RFD #3 in Alachua was written to his eldest sister Alice Jane Rawls (1883 - 1953), wife of George Washington Wilson (1879 - 1947). The card, postmarked Newnan, Georgia, identifies the other operator as C. W. Sears. John's brother, Francis Olmsted Rawls (1896 - 1975), was also a telegrapher and station master, serving in High Springs for over 20 years. |
