Real People  Real History

This is something new.  We are going to be placing online bits and pieces of people's lives.  Some from books and files from the Alachua County Court House.  Some submitted by you.  I will start from the beginning of the Records at the Court House, 1826.  At that time the Alachua Country, as it was referred to in several deeds, was a big part of the Territory of East Florida.  You can get an idea how big by looking at the image to the left above, or the 1830 link to the right.  Check back often, and let me know if you have anything to submit.

If you would like to adopt a Florida INDEPENDENT History & Genealogy Site, please let me know.  Jim Powell Jr
