Colonial Records of State of Georgia, Minutes of the Governor and
Council, in Savannah, 1770 - 1771, whose business it was to answer
petitions for land grants, and issue warrants for the land, have the
following minutes in the January 1771 meeting:

On Reading the Petitiones of Sundry Persons Just Arrived in the Province
in the Ship Hopewell Thomas Ash Master from Belfast in Ireland in behalf
of themselves and Families Praying that Tracts of Land might be ordered
them in the Township of Queensborough and Lots of Land in the Town of
Queensborough — And the said Petitiones being taken into Consideration
Resolved that the Several Tracts and lots of Land in the Town and
Township of Queensborough be laid out as follows Viz'

Robert Rodgers ____ 450 Acres and one Town Lott —
James Rodgers. . . .200 ............... one ditto —
