Anderson, Martha Durden Britt, died March 23, 2008, of Warrenville, S.C.,  wife of Roy Anderson and daughter of the late George Durden, Sr. and the late Gertrude Youmans Durden.  Daughters, Carolyn B. (Tom) Taylor and Kay A. (Dewayne) Minor both of Graniteville; sons, James (Barbara) Britt and Gerald (Earleen) Britt both of Warrenville, Ladd (Judy) Britt of Beech Island, S.C., and David Wayne Britt of Augusta; three sisters, Thelma Britt of Warrenville, Marie DeLoach of Aiken, and Mildred Lowe of Clearwater; two brothers, George "Pete" Durden, Jr. and Earl Durden both of Warrenville; a sister-in-law, Mabel Reichart of Florida.  She was born in Stillmore, Georgia but has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. She was retired from Graniteville Company. She was a member of Warrenville United Methodist Church.  Interment at Warrenville Cemetery.

Attaway, Infant - Mr. and Mrs. Will Attaway infant daughter died 2-22-1919, Bath, SC.

Bandy, Ella Sophronia Franklin, 96, died 8-10-1963 at her residence Saturday night.  She was the wife of the late John Fulton Bandy. Mrs. Bandy was born in Edgefield County, the daughter of the late Mr. Elbert Franklin and Mrs. Catherine Kelly Franklin.  She was one of the oldest citizens of Aiken County, having lived in this community most of her life. She was a member of the Vaucluse Baptist Church.  Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Monday from Poseys Chapel, Langley, South Carolina.  Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.  Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Nell Eidson, Bath, SC; Mrs. Leila King, North Augusta, SC; Mrs. Corrie Turner of Warrenville, SC; a son, Hughie Bandy, Bath, SC;  brother, Jessie Franklin, Johnston, SC; a half sister, Mrs. Romin Creed, Belvedere, SC.

Beard, William  R. of  Warrenville, SC., died 12-30-1957.  Interment in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery were he was also a member of the church.  A native of Aiken County but lived in Beech Island, Sc most of his life.  He was a retired farmer.  Widower of the late Mrs. Arrie Glover Beard.  The body will be at the residence of his son, Oscar Beard until the hour of service.  Note: William R. Beard was born on 3-18-1874.

Bishop, Brenda Durden, Warrenville, SC.,  wife of Preston Bishop died 1-30-2008.  Member of Gloverville Pentecostal Holiness Church.  Daughter of Tommy and Sarah Thompson Durden; sons, Chad and Eric Bishop; brothers, Richard and Anthony Durden.  Interment in the Langley Cemetery, Langley, SC.
 

Boatright, Frank R. - age 63, Porter, Georgia merchant for several years.  Died in Swainsboro, Georgia 4-23-1952 after an illness of three weeks.  Funeral services conducted at Hawhammock (five miles east of Swainsboro). Survivors include: wife, Mrs. Willie C. Boatright, Porter, Ga., nine children; sister, Mrs. Katie Lamb, Clearwater, SC; brothers, Willie R. Boatright, Savannah, Ga and M. W. Boatright of Augusta, Ga.

Britt, James Henry - of Warrenville, SC., age 44, died in an Augusta hospital from an auto collision near North Augusta, SC 5-14-1946.  Native of Aiken County, Warrenville, SC. Husband of Martha Durden Britt.  Daughter, Carolyn Britt; sons, James Henry Britt, Jr., Jerald Wayne Britt and Laddie Britt all of Warrenville, SC.; sisters, Mrs. W. A. Shoaf, Bath, SC and Mrs. Clark Reichart, Warrenville, SC.; brothers, Dewey, Lewis, Thomas and Wilbur Britt all from Warrenville.  Interment in Warrenville Cemetery. 

Britt, Thelma Durden, of Warrenville, SC, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 21, 2009, Ms. Thelma Durden Britt, age 87, She was the widow of Wilbur Britt and daughter of the late George Durden, Sr., and the late Gertrude Youmans Durden and mother of Larry Britt of Clearwater, S.C. In addition to her son, she is survived by sisters, Mildred Lowe of Clearwater and Marie DeLoach of Aiken; brothers, George 'Pete' Durden and Earl Durden both of Warrenville; three grandchildren, Angela Smith, Russell Britt and Michele Ball; three great-grandchildren and eight great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sisters, Lavonia Shaw and Martha Anderson and a brother, Nolan Durden. She was born in Stillmore, Georgia but has lived most of her life in Aiken County, S.C. She was retired from Graniteville Company. She was a member of the Warreville United Methodist Church. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends and all whose lives she touched. Her funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Quarles officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Langley, S.C.  Napier Funeral Home in charge.

Brooks, Warren Derrick, a wide known citizen of Horse Creek Valley, died at an Aiken infirmary today, age 70.  He loved sports and his hobby was baseball.  Member of the Graniteville Relief association, Pickens Lodge No. 28, Oddfellows, and a member of the Methodist church.  Funeral services at the Graniteville Baptist Church. Interment in Graniteville Cemetery.  The body will remain at his sister's home, Mrs. W. E. Croft until the funeral.  He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Croft, Mrs. Buster Gunter, Mrs. B. B. Blackwell and Mrs. George Merchant, all of Graniteville, SC. dated 3-5-1936, The Augusta Chronicle.

Brown, Michael Brandon - entered into rest Friday, night, September 28th, 2007 at his home, age 19, of Gloverville, S.C., son of David and Teresa Gail Bush Brooks and Michael Todd Brown.  Born in Augusta, Ga., a resident of Aiken County, S.C. A graduate of Aiken High School and was currently employed at Solvay, Augusta, Ga. In addition to his parents and step-parents, family members include a sister, Jessica Andrews (Red), Augusta, Ga.; brothers, Timothy Brown, Warrenville, S.C. and Racy Bradford, Washington, Ga.; grandparents, Ruelene Brown (the late Tim), Warrenville, S.C., Katherine Taylor (Fred), Keysville, Ga., George Bush (Jackie), Leesville, S.C., the late Rosemary Proctor, Mack and Mary Brooks, Matthews, Ga., the late Annie Brown, Carliss Taylor, Eloise Brooks, Matthews, Ga., and Selma Busbee, and "Me-Maw" and "Pa-Paw", the late Dollie and Paul Lamb.  Interment in the Langley Cemetery.   Funeral services at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, S.C.

Carroll, Effie Green, Langley, SC, age 70, died in a Columbia, SC at a hospital after a long illness.  A native of Aiken County, daughter of the late Samuel Green and Millie Whitaker Green. A life long resident of this community.  Retired from the local textile plant and was a Jehovah Witness.  Burial in the old Langley Cemetery.  She is survived by a niece.  Mrs. Paul Fittery, and a number of other nieces and nephews.

Creed, Edward Homer- age 78, Burnettown, SC, died 7-26-1969 at Aiken Hospital,  Interment in Sunset Memory Gardens.  United Methodist Church, Langley, SC funeral services in which he was also a member.  Member of the administration board for 25 years.  Manager of J. G. Chafee Funeral Home and manager of Posey's Funeral Home, Langley, SC.  Survivors include nieces and nephews. (TAC)

Creed, James Anderson-  69, died at his residence, Gloverville, SC, 6-27-1929,after an illness of about three days.  Funeral services conducted this afternoon at Langley Methodist church.  Interment in Langley Cemetery.  Survivors include: sons, E. B. Creed, Belvedere, SC, E. H. and B. T. Creed both of Gloverville, SC. 

Creed, James Anderson, 81, Grantieville, SC., died at his residence yesterday afternoon, 1-3-1943 after an illness of two months.  He was a widower of the late Mrs. Emma Josephine Creed, a native of Edgefield County.  Lived in the Valley for the  the past 40 yrs. He was a member of the Grantieville Baptist Church. One daughter, Mrs. Maggie Atkins of Graniteville; sons, J. W. Creed of Grantieville and B. W. Creed of Columbia SC.

Creed, Romie Slaton - resided at 320 Edgefield Road, Belvedere, SC, died 8-5-1972.  Funeral services at Belvedere First Baptist Church where she was also a member.  Interment in Graniteville Cemetery.  Native of Vaucluse, SC.,  made Belvedere her home for the past 45 years.  Survivors include: daughters, Mrs. Eloise Hall, Augusta, Ga, Mrs. Ruth Ford, Langley, SC, Mrs. Marian Brown, Mrs. Maxine Anderson, both of Belvedere, and Mrs. Evelyn Griffin, Augusta, Ga; sons, Roy Creed, William L. Creed, Roy S. - age 82 of 320 Edgefield Road, died 10-27-1991.  Funeral at Stephen D. Posey's Funeral Home.  Interment in Graniteville Cemetery, Graniteville, SC. 

Creed, William Lenell- age 67 of 128 Theresa Ave. Belvedere, SC., died 12-27-1988 at his residence.  Funeral at Posey's Funeral Home and interment in Sunset Memory Gardens.  Native of Aiken, retired as a salesman with Bankers Health and Life Insurance Co.  U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a member of Victory Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Juanita S. Creed; daughters, Montez Vanzant and Audrey Kime, both of Belvedere, SC; son, William Creed, North Augusta, SC; sisters, Evelyn Griffin, Maxine Anderson and Marion Brown all of Belvedere and Ruth Ford of Langley, SC; brothers, Kenneth Creed, Bob Creed and Roy Creed all of Belvedere and Jimmy Creed, Langley.

Friday, Thomas Everett, died 1-19-1943, age 63 at his residence in Graniteville, SC after an extended illness.  He was the husband of Emma Bell Friday. Employed by Graniteville Company and was a member of Knights of Pythias.  Interment in Graniteville Cemetery.  Daughter, Mrs. Ernest Johnson; son, Tommie W. Friday; brother, L. E. Woodward. 

Glover, George Madison, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Glover passed away 12-31-1926.  Funeral services at Langley Methodist Church.  Interment in Langley Cemetery.

Greene, Joseph J., Jackson, SC, age 83,  died 10-13-1966 at the New Ellenton Nursing Home after a long illness. A lifelong resident of Jackson, he was a son of the late William F. and Emmaline Key Greene.  A retired rural mail carrier with 40 yrs. of service. He was also a farmer and a former telegraph operator for the A. C. L. Railroad. A member of the Green Pond Baptist Church , he was a member of the W. O. W. and a former member of Jackson City Council. Survivors are daughters, Mrs. Paul Austin, Dallas, Ga., Mrs. H. L. Beach, St. George S.C., Mrs. Bruce Floyd, Atlanta, Mrs. Anne Shiver, Jackson, SC and Mrs. Christine Sharkey, Monterey Park, Calif.; son, Joe T. Greene, Beech Island, SC; sister, Mrs. Ida McClain, New Ellington, S.C. Interment in Jackson Memorial Cemetery.

Greene, Maude Andrews, Jackson, SC, age 59, died 3-9-1956.  Interment in the Jackson Memorial Park Cemetery.  A native of Beech Island, SC., she had lived most of her life in Jackson where she was a rural letter carrier for several years. She was president of the Home Demonstration Club, a member of the Jackson Civic Club, and played an active role in Red Cross work during WWII.  She was the wife of Joseph Johnson Greene.

Davis, Mattie E. - died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Turner, Granitevillle, SC, January 1, 1939 at the age of 59.  Interment in Langley Cemetery.  J. G. Chafee, Langley, SC in charge.

Durden, Gurtrude Youman - Aiken, SC died in an Aiken Regional hospital, 12-21-1990, age 89.  Native of Emanual County and was a homemaker. Wife of George Durden, Sr.; daughters, Martha Anderson, Mildred Lowe, Thelma Britt and Marie Deloach; sons, George Pete Durden, Nolan Durden and Earl Durden, all of Warrenville, SC. Interment in Warrenville Cemetery, Warrenville, SC.

Durisoe, Lucy Glover - Edgefield, SC,  died suddenly last night (12-10-1905)at her home on Maint. St. from second stroke of paralysis. She was over 60 years old and had been ill in health for some months. Daughter of Wiley Glover, deceased and was twice married, first husband, Gus Tompkins and the second husband, D. R. Durisoe who at one time owned the Edgefield Advertiser. She left no children but several relatives.

Eargle, Clifton C.-  was a member of The Bath Masonic Lodge. Member of the Langley Methodist Church. A member of the Woodmen of the World. A native of Graniteville, SC. At one time he operated his own store, but at the time of his death Mr. Eargle was an employee of Aiken Stores, Inc. He died at his residence after a brief illness of one week on February 12, 1942. Survivors include his widow, Iola Jowers Eargle; one son, Dr. Edwin E. Eargle of St. Petersburg, Florida; one daughter, Mrs. T. D. Farmer of Langley and her son Edwin Farmer; sisters, Mrs. Nellie Shealey of Columbia, Miss Ella Eargle of Graniteville, Mrs. Beulah Couch of Graniteville, and Mrs. Mae bandy (married to Dewey Hobson Bandy, Sr. 5-4-1899 - 5-7-1937) of Graniteville; brothers, Lonnie Eargle, Gaffney, SC., Leroy Eargle, Plant City, Florida; Wilbur Eargle of Orangeburg, SC and Grady Eargle of Graniteville. Ergle, Florence Lula - of Breezy Hill, Graniteville, SC died 10-19-1975 at her residence.  Interment in Graniteville Cemetery.  Native of Aiken County.  Retired employee of Graniteville Company.  Member of Calvary Baptist Church.  Survivors: sisters, Mrs. Francis E. Franklin, Mrs. Geneva (George) Williams and Mrs. Evie Hayes all of Graniteville; brother, Heyward Ergle of Graniteville.  Posey Funeral Home in charge.

Ergle, Grady Waddell- died 9-26-1967.  Interment in the Graniteville Cemetery.  Native of Graniteville.  Husband of the late Mrs. Myrtle Matthews Ergle. Member of St. Johns Methodist Church. Retired from the Clearwater Finishing Plant.  Seven years prior to his death he was living with his daughter, Mrs. Patricia Ergle Powell, 200 Northside Dr., North Augusta. Survivors include two brothers, W. N. Ergle, North Charleston and James L. Ergle, Graniteville; sisters, Miss Ella Ergle, Mrs. Nell Dean, and J. J. Couch all of Graniteville. Mrs. Nellie Shealy and Mae Bandy of Columbia; grandson, Gerald W. Powell.

Ergle, Lawrence Daniel -  died 10-26-1955 at a Columbia, SC infirmary. Interment in Graniteville Cemetery. Posey Funeral Home in charge. A native of Graniteville and lived here all her life. Husband of Mrs. Alice May Ergle of Graniteville. Ergle, Theodore Q. - of Breezy Hill, Graniteville, SC died 9-11-1975 at his residence.  Interment in Graniteville Cemetery.  A life long resident of Graniteville.  Retired from Gregg Division, Graniteville Company.  Member of Calvery Baptist Church.  Survivors are: sisters, Miss Florence Ergle, Mrs. Francis E. Franklin, Mrs. George Williams and Mrs. Evie Hayes all of Graniteville.  Posey Funeral Home in charge.

Ergle, William L., Graniteville, SC died at his residence, 5-16-1935 at the age of 64.  Funeral services at Graniteville Baptist Church.  Interment in the Graniteville Cemetery.  Life long resident of this city.  Member of Pickens Lodge #28 Odd Fellows and the Junior Order of United American Mechanics.  Husband of the late Carrie Morgan Ergle.  Daughters, Mrs. Joe Hayes, Mrs. C. H. Franklin, Miss Geneva and Miss Florence Ergle all of Graniteville; sons, Theodore and Heyward Ergle, Graniteville; brothers, Lawrence Ergle, Graniteville, Jim Ergle, Columbia; sisters, Mrs. Hattie Walling, Graniteville and Mrs. Belle Owens of Dunbarton, SC. The Augusta Chronicle has the name spelled Eargle.

Faulkner, Melvin Elijah - entered into rest at his residence, Johnstown, SC, January 1, 1939 at the age of 42.  Husband of Mrs. Leila Bandy Faulkner.  Interment in Piney Grove Cemetery.  Posey Funeral Home in charge.

Glover, Clarence B., age 67, of 15 S. Britton Rd., Springfield, retired mechanical engineer died 9-17-1965 in Delaware County Memorial Hospital, Upper Darby.  He was born in Beech Island, SC and had lived 23 years in Springfield.  Retired from the united Engineers and Constructors Inc. of Philadelphia where he had been employed more than 40 years.  A member of Covenant Methodist Church and Springfield Masonic Lodge.  Survivors: his widow, the former Ester Foye; daughters, Mrs. Lois Becker and Mrs. Barbara Anderson; brothers, William Glover, Carlton and Robert Glover, all of Georgia; sister, Mrs. Mamie Daniel of Georgia.  Interment in Valley Forge Gardens, King of Prussia.

Glover, Elsie, passed away this Friday morning, 2-23-1918,  at 8:30 at her Langley, South Carolina home.  She is survived by her children: Mrs. Duler Wade and Henry Glover both of Langley, SC; Mrs. Lizzie Young of Augusta, Georgia;  Mrs. Elsie Pryor of Brown Hill and Mrs. Ida Morgan of Hephzibah, Georgia.

Glover, Robert Edward, Sr. - age 63, died 7-22-1976 in a Burke County hospital.  Interment in Burke Memorial Gardens. A native of Burke County, was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Coleman Bible Class.  Survivors: his wife, Jean Burch Glover, sons, Robert E. Glover, Jr., Columbia, Gary A. Glover and Jerry M. Glover, Augusta and Eugene B. Glover, Waynesboro; daughters, Mrs. Virginia G. Jenkins and Miss Marjorie Eve Glover, Waynesboro; sister, Mrs. Laurie Daniel, Waynesboro; brothers, William Glover, Orangeburg, SC and Carlton Glover, Augusta. Deloach Funeral Home in charge. Greene, Catherine Koon - age 53, died 11-26-1936, resident of Vaucluse, SC.  Had been ill for several months. Funeral services at  Vaucluse Baptist Church.  Interment in the Vaucluse Cemetery.  Survivors include: daughters, Mrs. Marie Kelly and Marvell Turner both of Gloverville, SC., Mrs. Azille Lowe, Langley; son, Steve Greene; sisters, Mrs. B. Hankinson, Blanche, age 87 of 133 South Boundary, S. E. died 2-16-1985 at an Aiken County hospital.  Interment in Millbrook Baptist Church Cemetery.  Native of Aiken County.  Member of First Baptist Church of Aiken and the Pauline White Circle of the Church.  Wife of Wade Mayhew Hankinson; son, Mayhew G. Hankinson; daughter, Sabri Hankinson Smith, Aiken,SC, ; sister, Pearl H. C. Williams, Springfield.

Hankinson, J. B., Beech Island, SC., died on Tuesday.  He was severely cut by a negro, whose name could not be learned. Mr. Hankinson was in his barn putting in some peas. He called to the negro to hand him a sack. The negro refused and Mr. Hankinson started at him.  The negro then assaulted him with a knife. 10-6-1898 (TAC)

Hankinson, J. Lee, age 59, a leading figure in the brick and tile industry died of an acute heart attack 7-9-1931.  He was found by the cleaning crew in his office on the fourth floor of the Southern Finance Corporation building.  Battled with heart trouble for several years.  He had just returned from his fathers home who is ill, L. H. Hankinson.  Born in Beech Island, SC and when a young boy went to Atlanta, Ga and was educated in the public schools later graduated from The Citadel, Charleston, SC.  He returned to Augusta, Ga and entered the brick business.  President for many years at the Georgia Carolina Brick Company.  Retired several months ago.  Member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.  Husband of Mrs. Bennie Smythe Hankinson; daughters, Mrs. John Gregg of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Stewart Phinizy, Augusta, Ga., Mrs. Robert Goodwin, Jr, Augusta, Ga.; sisters, Mrs. John Foster, Augusta, Ga., Mrs. Tom Stafford, Augusta, Ga.,  Mrs. William Dobson, Beech Island, SC. He was the son of L. H. Hankinson and had one son, Leroy Hankinson of New York.  Brother, Hampton Hankinson, Augusta, Ga; Aunt, Mrs. Henry Taylor, Augusta.

Hankinson, Nettie - died 1-15-1976 in an Aiken SC Nursing Home.  Native of Aiken County, lived in Augusta, Georgia in the 30's.  Interment in Old Springs Methodist Church Cemetery.  Member of St. James United Methodist Church, Augusta, Georgia.  Wife of Arthur Tillman Johnson; sons, W. Hanford Johnson and James T. Johnson, both of Aiken, SC.  

Holsonback, Omie, died 10-5-1929, after her clothes was saturated with flaming kerosine by the explosion of a stove.  She was 30 years old.  Wife of J. C. Holsonback who is a foreman in the Langley mills.  Daughters, Erline, Marie, Louise and Helen Holsonback all of Langley; sons, Edward, Vernon and Robert Holsoback all of Langley. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Bruce of Langley; sisters, Mrs. G. H. Harrison of Camden, SC, Mrs. Belle Corley of Aiken, SC, Mrs. Lena Weatherford of Langley and one brother, Terrell Bruce, Langley.  Interment in Langley cemetery.

Jackson, Leila Temple- Died 1-16-1944, age 62 at her home in the Mt. Calvary section.  Funeral services at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in which she was a member.  Survivors include:husband, M. J. Jackson; daughters, Mrs. L. C. Cato, Eureka; Mrs. Theodore Fulmer, Aiken; Mrs. Bartley Franklin, Columbia; Mrs. Chester Snipes, Ridge a Spring; Mrs. Frank Plunkett, Aiken; Mrs. Theodore Robert, Charleston; Mrs. Dennis Sanders, Ridge Spring; sons, Mahlon, Aiken; Judson and Hutson, Ridge Spring; one sister, Mrs. P. Johnson, Barney Otto, age 86, Aiken, SC died 6-3-1971, Thursday in an Augusta hospital.  Native of Aiken County.  Son of the late Sidney A. and Ella Willing Johnson. Retired farmer and member of Silverton Agriculture Club and Aiken Farm Burea. Widow, Mrs. Lillie Glover Johnson, Aiken, Daughters, Mrs. Thomas Ferguson and Mrs. Bill Burgess, both of Aiken, SC.; sisters, Pearl Richardson, Warrenville, SC, Cora Amerson and Mrs.  Maggie Lott, both of Aiken, SC.  George Funeral Home.

Johnson, Hazel Taylor, of 104 Quinby Lane, Graniteville, SC. died 12-16-1982.  Burial in Graniteville Cemetery.  Life long resident of Graniteville. A homemaker and a member of Graniteville First Baptist Church. Johnson, Herman B., age 47, of 2171 "C" Court, died at a local hospital after an extended illness, on 10-7-1964.  A native of Augusta, Georgia, he had lived in Aiken, South Carolina most of his life.  He was the son of the late W. Johnson, Sidney A. - retired farmer and a prominent citizen of Aiken county died at 8:30 this morning, 9-13-1941, after a long illness.  Interment Town Creek Baptist Church Cemetery were he was a faithful member and a deacon for many years.  Daughters, Mrs. J. Kirkland, George Washington - age 77, died 7-28-1909 at his residence on upper Broad Street.  Funeral services held in  Graniteville, S.C. this afternoon 7-29-1909.  Interment in the Cemetery that place. A native of South Carolina.  He came to Augusta several years ago, and since that time has been an active and respected resident of the city and citizen of the state.  He is survived by five son and six daughters.  A member of the Graniteville Masonic Lodge and will be interred with Masonic honors.

Martin, William Henry- died January 31, 1943 at 10:05 at the age of 55 years old.

McDonald, Alice Glover McDonald; mother of Benjamin Glover Turner, passed away 10-5-1937. She was the adopted daughter of Billie Glover for whom the town of Gloverville was named. He is a large landowner and a part or all of the town is built on land formerly owned by him and inherited by Mrs. McDonald. She was one of the founders of Gloverville church, her foster father gave the land and $50 towards the building of the church. She was a devoted member and Sunday School teacher there. Her first marriage was to John Turner of Graniteville. Alice was born on 3-12-1864, Edgefield, SC.

McDoniel, Mary Talbert, age 81, Hwy 421, died in a Richmond County hospital, 6-23-1983.  Burial in Langley Cemetery. A native of Edgefield County, a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Gloverville.  Survivors: son, James E. Richardson, Colie - of Graniteville, died July 19, 1944, a technician sergeant, U. S. Army, he was 26 years old.  Husband of Evelyn Smith Richardson, Graniteville.  He was killed in action in France. He was sent to England, January, 1944.  Native of Aiken County, son of the late Ed Richardson and the late Eunice Wills Richardson.  Member of the Fourth division and a member of the Eight infantry for eight years.     Town Creek church, funeral services and interment. Senn, Cecelis Fontaine, age 22 and wife of Claude G. Senn of Vaucluse, South Carolina died today (3-23-1941) in an Aiken hospital of burns sustained in her home six weeks ago. Her clothing caught fire from flames in front of her fireplace.  Funeral services held at St. John's Methodist Church in Aiken, South Carolina. Interment will follow in the Vaucluse Cemetery in Vaucluse, South Carolina. Her remains will be at the resident of her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. George E. Senn until the hour of the funeral.  She had lived in Aiken until her move here when she married Claude Senn.  She was an active member of the St. John's Church.  She has a charming personality.  In addition to her husband, she is also  survived by her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Clara Cortez also of Aiken, SC.

Sexton, Walter C. - age 45, veteran of WWI, died 7-21-1943 at the residence of Mrs. Ernest Creed, Belvedere, S.C. after an extended illness. Funeral services held at Curtis Baptist Church.  Interment in the Langley Cemetery. A native of Tennessee, lived in Augusta for some years. Slayton, Marvin Grady, Aiken, SC -  88 died Thursday, August 3, 200, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.  The funeral will be at 4 p.m. today at Central Baptist Church.  Interment  in the church cemetery.  A native of Graniteville, was a Navy veteran of WW II.  He had retired as a life insurance agent from Liberty Life Insurance Co., where he was awarded the Blue Vase Award.  He served as lay speaker for churches in Aiken Baptist Association as a moderator and Sunday school director.  He was a former member of Graniteville First Baptist Church and a member of Central Baptist Church, where he served as deacon emeritus, deacon, Sunday school director and on many church committees.  Survivors include: sons, Edward Wayne Slayton, Tybee Island, Ga., and Marvin Drew Slayton, Aiken;  daughter, Bonnie L. Walling, Hattie Ergle,  of 105 Canal St. Graniteville, SC died at her residence, 3-8-1960 after an extended illness. Interment in Graniteville Cemetery. Willing, Lula Johnson, age 49, died suddenly this afternoon at her Aiken county home.  Wife of J.
