10-28-1905 - Mrs. Clara Herndon (Nee Platt) of Walhalla is visiting her mother, Mrs. Caroline Platt.

12-3-1905 - Mrs. Caroline Platt and Miss Alice Platt of Graniteville, SC spent Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Henderson of Aiken, SC.  Miss Marie Platt of Augusta, Ga is visiting Miss Alice Platt.

7-5-1908 - Miss Katherine Platt and Miss Benson, who have been spending some time with Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Setze, will leave on Tuesday for Massachusetts.

10-15-1937 - Myrtis Muns a schoolmate of Ellenton was accidentally killed in an automobile accident.

5-5-1938 - The case of the State versus D. D. Hicks, charged with the murder of Milledge Kneece on the night of 9-14-1938, at Mr. Hicks store in Madison.  Representing the state is Solicitor Bert Carter, assisted by John Stansfield, an attorney engaged to represent the deceased family, while the defendant is represented by Henry Busbee.  The son of Mr. Hicks was the only eye witness who is 13 years old.

10-15-1938 - Mrs. Avery Franklin and her brother Floyd Heath were in Augusta, Ga shopping.

11-12-1951 - Jack O. Slayton served as juror in the November session of Civil Court. 

3-17-1954- Miss Sylvia Slayton, popular young daughter of Arthur J. Slayton, has returned from spending the weekend at Newberry College, Newberry.

6-19-1957 - Mrs. John Cary Lamar & Mrs. J. E. Crouch honored their mother, Mrs. Ida LeCroy with a tea party on her 80th birthday.  Party was held at Mrs. Lamar's home, Broad Oak Farm, Beech Island, SC.
