Robert Shafter Barefield, age 73, died 1/26/1972, Wednesday in a Burke County Hospital.  Funeral Services at Dry Branch Baptist Church near Millen, Georgia. Native of Burke County, Georgia.  He was a retired mechanic and a member of Garfield Baptist Church, Ridgeway Masonic Lodge 104 and the Alec Temple.  Survivors: wife, Alva Ellison Barefield; daughters, Mrs. Julia Lawson, Wayne Michigan, Mrs. Edward Flakes, Mrs. Juanita Oglesby, Waynesboro, Georgia; sons, James Barefield, Clements, Michigan, Robert M. Barefield, Looksville, Tennessee, Hugh L. Barefield, Westland, Michigan; stepmother, Mrs. Hugh L. Barefield, Savannah, Georgia; sisters, Mrs. Blanche Clark, Millen, Georgia, Mrs. Robert Crabtree, Rincon, Georgia, Ivey Barefield, Savannah, Georgia, Mrs. Leo Thompson, Albany, Georgia, Mrs. Bill Romnie, Port Wentworth, Georgia; brothers, Brantley Barefield, Clinton, South Carolina, M.
