Ret. Maintenance GIBSON, Ga. - Mr. Edgar Brooks, 86, of Magnolia Church Road, entered into rest Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at the Warrenton Health & Rehab. Center, Warrenton, Ga. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Avera, Ga., with Rev. Bill Seaman officiating. Mr. Brooks was a native of Jefferson Co., Ga., and was retired from Georgia-Tennessee Mining Company, Wrens, Ga. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mrs. Helen Whitehead Brooks; two daughters, Julia (Jerry) Brooks Stevenson of Warrenton and Barbara Brooks Bazemore of Gibson; one brother, Mr. George Brooks of Gibson; one sister, Mrs. Marie Dixon of Stapleton, Ga.; four grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Wesley and Mrs. Berta Hadden Brooks; four brothers, Edward, Oliver, Howard, and Homer Brooks; two sisters, Katie Lou Denton and Martha Brooks Malaczewski.
