Second Generation of Jesse Connell Descendants.  Article abstracted from the Jefferson Reporter- Ancestoring Section.

3. Lewis Benjamin Connell, born February 12, 1853 in Jefferson County, Georgia, died April 4, 1931, at Pope Hill in Wrens, Georgia.  He is buried at Wrens Cemetery. He married first to Mattie M. Connell, born in 1861.  His second marriage was to Mary Madison Johnson, February 17, 1878, she is the daughter of James and Elizabeth Stansford Johnson.  Mary Madison was born on April 1861 in Columbia County, Georgia and died August 31, 1940 and buried in Wrens Cemetery. 

Children of Lewis and Mary Johnson Connell were: 

Horace Clinton Connell, born December 11, 1878 and died April 8, 1880, buried in Silver Run Baptist Church Cemetery in McDuffie County, Georgia. 

Walter Vespucius Connell, born August 5, 1880 in McDuffie County, Georgia, died in 1953 in El Dorado, Texas. 

Charles Madison Connell, born May 21, 1882 and died June 25, 1967.

Lewis Pierce Connell, born July 19, 1884 and died April 3, 1944.

Lessie Arleman Connell, born July 2, 1886 and died May 30, 1887 and buried in Silver Run Baptist Church Cemetery in McDuffie County, Georgia.

Ira Bell Connell, born April 20, 1888 and died November 3, 1972.

Willie Estelle Connell, born April 28, 1890 and died February 25, 1959 and is buried in Harlem, Georgia Cemetery.

Lily Inez Connell born Janyary 24, 1892 in McDuffie County, Georgia and died June 15, 1965 in Savannah, Georgia.

James Milton Connell born March 16, 1896 and died in Tyler, Texas.

Parrie Prentice Connell, born May 5, 1896 and died May 31, 1946.

Frederick C. Connell born July 29, 1900 and died December 16, 1900, buried in Silver Run Baptist Church Cemetery, McDuffie County, Georgia.

Vivian Iris Connell, born July 20, 1903 in McDuffie County, Georgia and died in Wrens, Georgia, April 21, 1991.  She married Mansel Hammock on August 8, 1929.

Willard Lynn Connell, born February 6, 1905 and died May 1952,  He was a native of Jefferson County prior moving to Augusta, Georgia. 

Thomas Jefferson Connell, born October 1, 1840 in Jefferson County, Georgia, died March 24, 1925, buried in Silver Run Baptist Church Cemetery.  He married (1) Peuina Jane Rivers on February 11, 1858, daughter of Thomas and Ann McGahee Rivers.  She was born July 1, 1844 in Warren County, Georgia, died December 5, 1924 and is buried in Thomson, Georgia. 

Children of Thomas Jefferson Connell and (Peunia) Jane Rivers are: 

Jesse Lawson Connell, born January 31, 1874 in Dearing, McDuffie County, Georgia and died May 6, 1935 and is buried in West View Cemetery, Augusta, Georgia. 

Frances Connell, born in 1861 and married a Mr.  Wright. 

John Thomas Connell, born February 6, 1870 in Richmond County, Georgia and died December 24, 1946 in Augusta, Georgia.

Victoria Elizabeth Connell, born February 19, in McDuffie County, Georgia and died December 14, 1911, in Thomson, McDuffie County, Georgia.  She married (1) Thomas Jefferson Carter on October 14, 1900, born June 18, 1869 in Edgefield County, South Carolina and died July 1, 1947. Second marriage was to Thomas Jefferson Cartin. 

Rodger Rivers Connell, born April 10, 1879 in McDuffie County, Georgia died December 16, 1953 and is buried in West View Cemetery, Augusta, Georgia. 

Covunio Walter Connell born April 21, 1872 in Richmond County, Georgia and died March 24, 1947. 

Mary Savannah Connell, born August 3, 1859 in Jefferson County, Georgia and died May 8, 1934. 

Andrew Jackson Connell, born August 4, 1877 in McDuffie County, Georgia, died February 8, 1934 in Charleston, South Carolina. 

Asbury William Connell, born December 24, 1875 in McDuffie County, died in December 1961. 

Nathan J. Connell was born March 19, 1857 in Jefferson County, Georgia, and died November 19, 1927 in Jefferson County, Georgia.  He married (1) Ella J. around 1879.  She was born around 1860.  He married second to Eliza Aldred around 1885.  Nathan was buried in Wrens Cemetery on November 19, 1927. 

Children of Nathan and Eliza Aldred Connell:

Kate Connell, born June 10, 1896.  She married Edgar J. Young, born September, 1894. She died November 10, 1977 and he died October, 1959.  Kate and Edgar had two daughters, Eliza Jane and Nell. 

Royal Connell was born in 1889. 

Jerome Connell, born in 1885, near Stellaville, Georgia.  Operated an auto agency in  Augusta, Georgia around 1933.  He died in 1939 and is buried in Wrens Cemetery.  Jack is the father of Jack Connell, a prominent Augusta business leader, and former Speaker Protem of the Georgia House of Representatives for years before his retirement.  At the age of 12,  Jack drove one of the cars, following his father, to Augusta, Ga.  John Roy Connell, born October 15, 1888, and died July 31, 1966.  He served in WWI and is buried in Wrens Cemetery.  Jessie M. Connell was born in May 1880 and died September 1882.  He is buried in Wrens Cemetery.
