Sept. 12, 1912- MILLEN, Ga. - For two solid hours yesterday afternoon, Mrs. Edna Perkins-Godbee bared her soul and told in minute detail her life story - the telling of which at times blanched her cheeks. A sordid story it was, beginning with the day she first met Walter S. Godbee; running through their years of married life, their marital disaffections and useless reconciliations; and ending with the firing of the fatal shots in the Millen post office.

Upon this story, which, if published verbatim, would make a book of novel length - and which was full of thrills - and upon this story alone, Mrs. Godbee will depend to combat the exceptionally strong case the state made out against her today for the murder of Mrs. Florence Boyer Godbee, the pretty young Pennsylvania woman who replaced her in her former husband's affections.

It is doubtful whether there was ever just such another murder trial in the history of the Georgia courts.

Governor Dorsey signed an application for the parole of Mrs. Edna Perkins Godbee.  She was serving a life term at the state farm after conviction of the murder of Judge Walter S. Godbee in the post office in Millen, Georgia several years ago.  After the divorce to Mrs. Edna Perkins Godbee the Judge remarried again.  Mrs. Godbee shot to death both her former husband of Mrs. Godbee.  Mrs. Godbee was represented by Attorney A. S. Anderson of Millen, also a member of the house of representatives.  ( 7-9-1920) The Augusta Chronicle
