|12-11-1924 - Richard Hankinson, Columbia, Ga., sent to the chain gang for two years. He was arrested on a bench warrant issued by Judge J. K. Henry. He was found guilty of violating the prohibition law. He waived extradition from Aiken, S.C.|
|Allendale, S.C., 6-21-1935 - Dr. W. H. Breeland, his wife and their daughter Laura, were injured in an automobile accident. They were returning home from Augusta, Ga. after attending the funeral of Mrs. Breeland's aunt, Mrs. Ida Hankinson Calhoun. Accident happened at a point near Silverton. Another car drove into their lane. Reported to the University hospital, later released.|
|One of Augusta's oldest and most revered citizens, Mr. Luther H. Hankinson, celebrated his 86th birthday, Tuesday at his home, 401 Broad Street. His daughter, Mrs. John Foster who lives with him invited the friends and the family. Four generations attended, three of Mr. Hankinson's children: Mrs. Foster, Mrs. Howard Stafford, and Mrs. J. Lee Hankinson. Among the grandchild present there were, Mrs. Stewart Phinizy, Miss Mary Stafford, Thomas Stafford, Jr. and Mrs. Robert Goodwin. Fourth generation: great grand child, Mary Ann Foster. Luther Hampton Hankinson, of 1214 Belmont Dr., died in a local hosptial, 3-23-1962, Friday after an extended illness. A native of Beech Island, SC, lived in Augusta, Ga for 50 years. Son of the late Luther Hampton Hankinson and Mary Rountree Hankinson. Retired Vice President and General Manager of the Hankinson Brick and Tile Company. Member of Baptist Hill Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Bryson Hankinson, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services held at the Elliott Sons Chapel. Interment in Magnolia Cemetery, Augusta, Ga.
J. Lee Hankinson, age 59, died in his office on the 4th floor of the Southern Finance Company, Augusta, Ga., 7-9-1931. Son of Luther Hampton Hankinson.
Hankinson, Mary Bryson - Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Bryson Hankinson, Hillcrest Avenue, who died 12-28-1962 at a local hospital from an extended illness, in Magnolia Cemetery, A native and life long resident of Augusta, Ga, widow of Luther Hampton Hankinson. A member of the Catholic Church. She was the daughter of the late William and Ella Austin Bryson. Survivors include three nieces, Mrs. Frank May, Mrs. Edgar Trapnell, and Mrs. J. Luke Davis all of Augusta; two nephews, Dr. Hampton Bryson, Miami, Florida and Edward Bryson, Dunellen, Florida.

The Marriage of Miss Leila Hankinson and Mr. John Gregg of Minneapolis, Minn will take place tonight 10-29-1919 at 8:30 at St. Pauls Episcopal church, reception at Country Club. 10-24-1931- For $10, J. Lee Hankinson and Hampton Hankinson, sold to the H & H Company, 90 acres of land, designated as being in Lot #5 in division of John D. Twiggs, located between the Savannah River and the Twiggs Dead Rivers, also 130 acres in the 123rd District of Georgia.
Miss Virginia Mildred Hankinson whose engagement to Marvin Hampton McLin is announced today by her mother, Mrs. James B. Hankinson of Beech Island, SC. The wedding will be an event of August, 1940.
Ameila A. Hankinson, who died yesterday (1-5-1923)morning at 3 o'clock at the Jackson, South Carolina home of an illnes of 3 weeks, age 77. Interment in the Foreman Cemetery. Survivors include five first cousins, J. B. Barnie, T. J. Joe, Rev. B. M. Foreman, and Jack and Horace Bates, Jackson, SC. Her tombstone reads she is the wife of R. S. Hankinson.
