Mary Alice Parrish McNair - Native of Jefferson County, Ga., died 5-12-1941. Interment in Reedy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Lived with her daughter, Mrs. E. S. Ivey, Gainesville, Florida for several years prior to her death. Widow of the late James Sidney McNair. Other children: R. Lee McNair, Wrens,Ga., J. D. McNair, Lake Wales, Florida, J. L. McNair, Marion, Florida; brothers, Roombs Parrish, Augusta, Ga, Ollie Parrish, Charleston, SC, C. H. Parrish, Wrens, Ga; sister, Mrs. Lula Gay, Augusta, Ga.
12-18-1947 - Wallace M. Dorn, City Councilman, was held on a murder warrant for death of John McNair of Wrens, Georgia. John McNair was fatally wounded by Mr. Dorn from a fight on 12-10-1924. A week later Mr. McNair died at a local infirmary.
