Member of the Baptist Women's Mission Union. She was a Sunday school teacher. Sons, Charles R. "Pat" Arrington, born 1903 and died 1972.
Bell Rowland Arrington, Wrens, Ga., age 65, died at the Kennerstone hospital in Marietta on 12-4-1952. Interment in the Mt. Moriah Methodist churchyard, Native of Jefferson County. Made her home in Smyrna for the past three months. Member of the Church of God. Survivors: sons, J. E. Arrington, Smyrna, Rufus Arrington, Matthews, C. F. Buna Stelle Arrington, Wrens, Ga, age 73 died 7-9-1957 when she was hit by a truck about two miles north of Wrens. Interment in the Wrens City Cemetery. Wife of Silas J. Arrington; sons, Hardy Arrington, Horace Arrington, both of Matthews, Ga., Willie Obed Arrington of Port Wentworth, Ga.,; daughters, Mrs. Beatrice James, Mrs. Flossie McDonald and Mrs. Idell Dixon all of Matthews,Ga. A native of Washington County, Ga., the daughter of the late John Warthen and Mrs. Sara Arrington Warthen. She was educated in Washington County and moved to Jefferson County as a young girl. 7-10-1957
Catherine Salvato Arrington, age 34, died in an auto collition in Augusta, Ga. Funeral services conducted at St. Mary's On The Hill Catholic Church. Interment in Newark, N. J., her native home. She was a beautician. She had lived in Augusta six years. A veteran of WWII, having served as a WAC. She made her home at 2137 Shirley Avenue. Survivors include her husband, Zettie Arrington; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Nicholas Salvato of Newark; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Pentz and Teresa Salvato, both of Newark; three brothers, John Salvato of Newark, Orlando Salvato of California and Randolph Salvato of Mexico.
Carpenter Newman Arrington, 65, 538 Camelia Drive, Martinez, died Thursday 12-25-1980 in a Richmond County hospital. He was the widower of Madelyn Lightfoot Mills Arrington. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Edgar Murrah officiating. A native of Jefferson County, but lived in Augusta for 50 years and Martinez for 8 years. He was an upholsterer. Survivors include one stepson, Robert J. Mills, Martinez, one brother, Tom Arrington, Stone Mountain, Ga. Elliott Sons Funeral Home. Charles Arrington, Stapleton, Ga., age 70, of 5249 W. Able Street, died 9-19-1999 at Jefferson hospital. native of Jefferson County, had retired from civil service. A navy veteran and a member of Stapleton Baptist Church in which he is buried. Mamie E. "Jean" Arrington - Entered into rest Monday, July 22, 2008, Wife of the late Roy Arrington. A native of Statesboro and lived most of her life in Augusta. Graduated from Statesboro High School in 1946, was an employee of Statesboro telephone company, and retired from IBEW local union 1579 in Augusta. She was a member of St. James United Methodist and the Nowell Bible Class. Mrs. Arrington was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt. Family members include her son: Paul E. Arrington and wife Carol of Dacula, GA, grandchildren: William S. Arrington and Mackenzie G. Arrington. She was preceded in death by her son: Steven Roy Arrington, parents: Mr. and Mrs. Solie O. Preetorius, brother: William S. Preetorius, and sister: Hilda Gettis. Funeral services will be held at St. James United Methodist on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Linda Birchall officiating. Internment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.

Arrington; one son, Ronnie Arrington of Port Wentworth; one sister, Mrs. Lou

William Silas Arrington, age 57 entered into rest on January 11, 1966, of Keysville, Ga. Died at a local hospital with an illness. Elliott Sons Funeral Home. Burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Note: William Silas Arrington, government employee at the Veterans Facility here for the past eight years, has been enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve through the Augusta Navy Recruiting station with a rating of hospital apprentice first class. Following his induction into the service at Macon, Arrington was transferred to Norvolk, Va., for a tour of recruit training before being assigned to general hospital duty.
