Beasley

Lillie Vales Beasley, died June 4, 1945 of 1147 Hickman Rd. Died in an Atlanta hospital after an extended illness. She was formerly a school teacher of Augusta.  Interment in Magnolia Cemetery. She was at one time a Milliner and a member of Victory Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. Wife of Joseph W. Beasley, Sr. Sons-Joseph W. Beasley, Jr. of New York, Allen A. Beasley of Savannah, J. E. Beasley of Memphis, Tenn. and Gary Lamar of Atlanta.  Elliott Sons in charge.

Solomon R. Beasley, age 83 of Stapleton, Ga., died at his residence of a short illness on May 24, 1953.  A native of Jefferson County. Member of Stapleton Baptist Church and the Gibson Masonic Lodge F and AM - No. 257.  Husband of Millie Clark Beasley.  Three sons: Eddie Eugene Beasley and Albert Samuel Beasley both of Avera, Ga.   Roy Solomon Beasley of Augusta, Ga. One daughter: Mrs. Josie Hughes, Martinez, Ga.  Interment in Gay Cemetery. Blanchard Funeral Home. Obituary from  the Augusta Chronicle.   In the book  "Cemeteries of Jefferson County Georgia" by Leroy Lewis,  Solomon R. "Tol" Beasley is listed under the Perdue-Beasley Cemetery, born 3-27-1870 and died 5-24-1950.  Son of Sylvester Beasley & M. E. Perdue.  His wife Millie Clark Beasley, born 1-17-1883 and died 7-4-1954, second wife of Solomon R. Beasley.  His first wife is also listed in the cemetery, Lillie Wilkerson Beasley as first wife of Solomon R. "Tol" Beasley, married 5-7-1889, no further information. The Augusta Chronicle list him as dead on May 24, 1953, (I checked it twice) and the book "Jefferson County Cemeteries of Georgia list him as dead on 4-24-1950.  (Maybe a typo)  His father Sylvester Beasley born 9-10-1835 and died 2-28-1927 also in the Perdue-Beasley Cemetery.

Willis Abraham Beasley, of 1204 D'Antignac St. died February 13, 1942.  Found dead in the rear of the store that he operated at 901 12th St. He was shot in the ear at close range.  A .38 calibre revolver was found near him. A native of Jefferson County.  He had resided in Augusta most of his life.  Husband of the late Mrs. Ruth Cawley Beasley.  Member of the Masons.  One daughter, Betty Ann Beasley.  A sister, Magie Mathews of Wrens.  Brothers, Edgar Beasley of Wrens and Louis Beasley of Minnesota.
