February 6, 1904 - DEATH OF LIEUT. ISAIAH ARNOLD BELL
This death takes away another old veteran of the confederacy who had reached the age of 73 years. At the time of his death he was one of the oldest citizens of the county and was a man much respected and honored in the community in which he lived.
He died on the 26th of January at his home in the 64th district of the county where he had lived the greater part of the last years of his life. He was a man of ability but of rather reclusive nature, preferring the quiet of home to the more ambitious life of politics. He was a successful farmer which was his vocation. During the war he served in Co K of 32nd Georgia Regiment as a lieutenant. He leaves a wife, children and grandchildren to mourn his lost. His remains were interred at Old Church, a large number of his neighbors attended the funeral. He was the husband of Elizabeth Carolina Langley, born June 20, 1835.George Bell, 43, of Jacksonville, Florida, formerly of Sardis, Georgia died 6-26-1957 after a brief illness. Funeral service at First Baptist Church of Harwell, Ga., He was a York Rite Mason and a Shriner. A member of the Band Boosters Club of DuPont High School in Jacksonville and of the Army School and the Army Reserve with the rank of major in the 871st Signal Depot. He had served in the Korean campaign and was a veteran of WWII. He formerly owned a laundry and at the time of his death was associated with a wholesale firm. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Cornelia Bell; daughter, Miss Jean Bell; mother, Mrs. Birdie Bell, Sardis, Ga.; brother, William D. Bell, Jr., of Spartanburg, S.C.,; sisters, Miss Bessie Mae Bell and Miss Katherine Bell, both of Sardis.
Henry Green Bell, born September 7, 1859, Habersham Community, Burke County, Ga. According to the Bulloch Newspaper, in Ga., dated March 6, 1912, states he died November 11, 1911. He was born and reared in Burke County, Ga. and was buried there. He was the husband of Abigail Jane Brinson Bell. Married February 10, 1881.
