Brookins

Bonnie Halchium Brookins, age 66 of Waynesboro, Ga died 8-25-1976 at his residence. Funeral services held at Deloach Funeral Home Chapel. Interment in Burke Memorial Gardens. A native of Burke County, a retired grocery store merchant and a member of Habersham Methodist Church. Survivors include: his widow, Myrtle Dean Joyner Brookins; one son, Raymond Brookins, Waynesboro; three daughters, Mrs. William H. Friese, hiltonia, Ga., Mrs. Jewel Lee, Sylvester, Ga., and Mrs. Edward J. Taylor, Waynesboro; one brother, Parker Brookins, Sardis, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Flakes, Alexander, Ga., and Mrs. Gaynell B. Hills, Waynesboro, Ga.  Note: Myrtle, his wife died 9-25-1986. 

James Brookins, died February 20, 1976.  Native of Jefferson County. Three daughters, Mrs. Eleose Simmons, Wadley, Mrs. Evelyn Powell, Monterey, California, and Miss Ann Pearl Brookins, Bartow.  Two sons, Herman Brookins, Bartow, Jimmy Brookins of Miami, Florida.  Johnson-Baker Funeral Home. Burial in Brookins cemetery.

John D. Brookins , Warrenville, S.C., died July 13, 2007.  He was the beloved husband of Jeanette Murphy Brookins and son of the late John William Brookins and the late Jessie Mae Frazier Brookins. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Raymond Lamar Brookins of Gloverville, S.C.; three daughters, Darlene Brooks of Stapleton, Ga., Lisa McClain of Gloverville, and Geraldine (Geri) Joyner of Waynesboro, Ga.; a sister, Juanita Gambrell Paul of Savannah, Ga.  He was born in Sardis, Ga. but has been a resident of Aiken County for over forty-three years. He was a member of the Gloverville Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a carpenter by trade. The funeral service held at Chapel of Napier Funeral Home.   Interment in Sunset Memory Gardens in Langley, S.C.   Memorials made to the American Kidney Foundation.  Napier Funeral Home in charge.
