Maureen Upton
Crutchfield, 70, of Gibson entered into rest on Friday, Feb. 20,
2009, at her residence. She was a native of Glascock County, a retired
seamstress and a member of the Gibson Church of God. Funeral services were
held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with
Rev. Richard Kitchens officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery, Avera.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruby Braddock Upton; and a
brother, William Upton. Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Johnny
Crutchfield; one son, William Joseph (Diane) Chalker of Thomson; one stepson,
Johnny (Bobbie) Crutchfield Jr. of Gibson; one stepdaughter, Kathy (Tommy)
Johnson of Gibson; one sister, Jeanette Glover of North Augusta, S.C.; five
grandchildren, Shane Chalker, Keven Chalker, Katelyn Crutchfield, Taylor Johnson
and Tyler Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Justin Chalker, Ansley Chalker and
Landen Chalker. Sheppard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
