Charles H. Evans of Matthews, Georgia passed away June 23nd, 1936, at University Hospital of Augusta, Georgia. He was f2 years old. He operated a large farm in the Woodland Church community and was one of our most progressive farmers. He was a loyal Member of Woodland Baptist Church and a good citizen. He was a member of the Thomas E. Watson Lodge Nov. 25, Junior Order, at Wrens. Funeral services were held at Woodland Church with R. R. W. Johnson, his pastor, officiating, on Wednesday afternoon, June 24th. Interment in the churchyard cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie Beasley Evans; one brother, Mr. W. T. Evans of Matthews; sisters, Mrs. Robert Parker, Matthews, Mrs. Fannie Howard, Wrens, Mrs. Eben Beasley of Augusta, Mrs. Thenie Davis of Gibson.
