Farmer

 

Henry R. Farmer, age 59, died at University hospital in Augusta, Ga on March 21, 1938.  He was a successful farmer, a steward of Mount Moriah Methodist Church and was a loyal member. Funeral services held at Stellaville and the interment  at Ways Church Cemetery.  He is the husband of Clara Denny Farmer.  Daughters, Mrs. Louise Murray of Swainsboro, Ga., Misses Virginia  and Betty Farmer both of Stellaville; sons, Pierce Farmer of Augusta, George D. Farmer and James Gordon Farmer both of Stellaville.

Lou Anna Tender-Farmer, of Augusta died Feb. 1, 2007. A native of Jefferson County, was the daughter of the late Berry and Ruth Tender of Avera. She attended high school in Sandersville and college in North Carolina. She was a member of the Ways Grove Memorial Aid Society and also a member of Sand Valley AME Church where she was also the Mother of the church and worked on both the missionary and stewardess board. She was later baptized on Aug. 9, 2003, at Faith Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Allen Farmer Sr.; brothers, Linzey Whigham, Lee Whigham, James Whigham and Dwille Neal; two daughters, Catherine and Katrine Farmer. Interment in Sand Valley AME Church cemetery. Survivors include eight children, Earline (Otis) Smith, Augusta, Henry Farmer Jr., Snellville, Elmer (Alma) Farmer, Duluth, Cora (William) Meriwether, Evans, Linzie (Deborah) Farmer, Winston Salem, NC, Bernard (Yvonne) Farmer, Glendale, Ariz., and Samuel (Phyllis) Washington, Snellville; three sisters, Idell (Oliver) Davis, Philadelphia, Pa., Sarah (Edgar Willie) Davis, Raleigh, NC, and Mattie (Willie Lee) Schofield, Union City. Kinsey and Walton Funeral Home, Augusta, in charge.
