GARNTO

Mrs. Mettie Spell Garnto, age 79, died July 28, 1964 at a local hospital.  Interment at Grove Baptist Church, Wrightsville, Ga. A native of Johnson County, she had lived in Augusta for the past thirty years. A member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and the widow of Jethro N. Garnto.  She is the daughter of the late W. H. and Sena Williams Spell, both Ga families. Survivors include a son, C. E. Garnto, Augusta; a daughter, Mrs. Osteen Smith, Augusta; two brothers, Thurston Spell, Horace Spell, both of Madison; two sisters, Mrs. Russell Martin, Mrs. Flaura Sumner, both of Atlanta.  Elliott Sons Funeral Home.
