Godbee Obituaries

Michael Anthony Godbee, age 4, of 119 Habersham Road, died July 30, 1989 at Memorial Medical Center, Savannah. Funeral conducted at Buck Creek United Methodist Church.  Burial in the church cemetery. A native of Jenkins County, spend most of his life in Screven County. Survivors include his father, Ruben  Dewayne Godbee, Sylvania; his mother, Sandra Fay Smith, Sylvania; a brother, Ruben Dewayne Godbee, II, Sylvania; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Godbee, Sylvania; his maternal grandmother, Grace Bolton, Statesboro; maternal grandfather, Richard Smith, Garden City.  Strickland-Waters Funeral home in charge. Mary J. Godbee, age 83, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tullia Chew of Macon, Ga., yesterday after a short illness. She is the mother of Mrs. L. E. Knight, of Augusta.  Funeral conducted at Godbee Cemetery, near Telfairsville.  She is also survived by two sons, T. R. Godbee of Rosier, Ga., and N. G. Godbee of Herndon, Ga. ; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Godbee of Birmingham, Ala., and Mrs Bushie Claxton, of Girard, Ga.; and one brother, Charlie Godbee of Girard. (TAC- 4-9-1931)
