Lucy Rooks Humphrey, 48, of 821 fifteenth street, died at a local infirmary following an illness of six days. The remains will be at the residence until the hour of the funeral, which will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist church. Interment in the churchyard. Survivors are her husband, E. H. Humphrey; daughters, Mrs. R. E. Thompson and Mrs. Ellis Chalker; sons, Harry Humphrey and Pressley Humphrey, all of Augusta; three grand children; sisters, Mrs. Thomas Moates, Wrens, Ga., Mrs. Frank McTier and Mrs. Alvin McTier, both of Stapleton and Mrs. Walter Sheppard of Augusta, Ga; brothers, George M. Rooks, James Rooks, Aaron Rooks and Cheslie Rooks all of Stapleton, Ga., Watson Rooks, Wrens, Ga and William Rooks of Augusta. She was a native of Jefferson County, Ga, and had for the past four years made her home in Augusta. She was the daughter of George A. Rooks and Emma Denton Rooks.
