Mobley

Carolyn June Mobley, Waynesboro, Ga., died 9-8-1948 following an illness of several months. She was the most popular and promising graduate of the class of 1947 at Waynesboro High School. She was a native of Sardis, Burke County.  She was the daughter of Ernest C. Mobley of Burke County and the late Nellie White Mobley of Screven county.  She was a member of the Bethany Methodist church near Girard, Ga.  She is survived by her father; one sister, Mrs. B. Jones Tomlin of Waynesboro; six brothers, Norbert W. Mobley and Howard Emerson Mobley of the Panama Canal Zone, Thomas Eugene Mobley and Ernest C. Mobley, Jr. of Girard and Laurie E. Currington of Waynesboro; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Robert Davis of Screven county; two nieces and one nephew.  Funeral services at Waynesboro Baptist church.  Interment in the Bethany cemetery in Girard.  (TAC)

Carson Christopher Mobley, age 76, died at the home of his son, Ernest Mobley near Girard, Ga.  Funeral services will be held at Baccon Methodist church.  Interment in the church cemetery.  He is the husband of Amanda Dixon Mobley who died a few months ago.  He was born and reared in this section and lived here most of his life.  He is survived by five sons, John Mobley of Savannah, Ga., Corrie and Dozier Mobley of Atlanta, and Robert and Ernest Mobley of Girard; two daughters, Mrs. Eula Greene of Hiltonia, and Mrs. Ethel Martin, of Atlanta, and 31 grandchildren.  (TAC)
