Prescott
Charlie D. Prescott, died May 5, 1989, at Veterans Administration Hospital. A native of Jefferson County, a retired electrician at Fort Gordon. He was a US navy veteran of WWII. Survivors include his wife, Ann A. Prescott; two daughters, Charlene Prescott Staveley, Keysville, and Karen Prescott Amerson, Wrens; a son, Dwight Prescott, Keysville; two sisters, Eliza May Arrington, Wrens, and Rosa Pearl Walden, Gough; two brothers, Edward Prescott, Sr., Keysville, and Floyd Prescott, Augusta, Ga.
King Edward "Rube" Prescott, age 77, of Noah Station Road, died December 23, 1989 at his residence. Interment in the Mount Moriah Methodist Church Cemetery, Matthews. A native of Jefferson County, had retired from Georgia Tennessee Mining and Chemical Company. He was also a farmer. An Army veteran of WWII, Mr. Prescott was a recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. A member of American Legion Post, Harlem, and Mount Moriah Methodist Church. He was the husband of Irene Tinley. Four daughters, June P. Rooks and Hattie Lou Kitchens both of Stapleton, Ga., Ann Brown, Stone Mountain, and Iris Bazemore, Wrens, Ga.; five sons, George Prescott and Edward Prescott, Jr., both of Stapleton, Ga, Kenneth Prescott, Wrens, and David Prescott and Gordon Prescott, both of Keysville; two sisters, Eliza Arrington, Wrens, and Rosa Walden, Gough; a brother, Floyd Prescott, Augusta. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
