Slater

Evelyn Dukes Slater, 93, of Wadley died March 3, 2007, at Glendale Nursing Home in Wadley. Mrs. Slater was a native and life-long resident of Jefferson County. She was a homemaker and a member of Wadley First United Methodist Church.  Graveside services were March 6 at 2 p.m. at Bethany Cemetery, Wadley, with Dr. Larry Sauls officiating.  Survivors include her daughter, Mary C. Ivey, Wadley; two sisters, Betty D. Samples, Wadley, and June Miller, Augusta; two grandsons, Johnny Ivey and Joey Ivey, Davey, Fla. Smith Funeral Home was in charge. (JR)
