Smith

Annie Mae Arrington Smith, 70, of Keysville, Ga., died Monday in Augusta, Ga. after an extended illness. Graveside services conducted at the Keysville Methodist Church Cemetery.  She was the wife of the late Lon Smith and a native of Burke County. She was a member of the Keysville Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. F. R. (Melba) Cannon of Augusta; a son, Truman Smith of Keysville; three brothers, Tom Arrington of Stone Mountain, Ga., Newman Arrington of Augusta, and Obed Arrington of Augusta; and three grandchildren. Note: Annie Mae Arrington was born on 2-19-1901 and died 11-1-1971. Her father was Reece A. Arrington (1870 - 1943). Annie Mae's mother was Dora Agnes Newman Arrington (12-26-1871 - 2-16-1929).

Curby Lee Smith, age 58, Wrens, Georgia, died September 5, 1949 at Louisville Hospital.  Survivors include his father, W. T. Smith of Thomson; stepmother, Mrs. Sally Smith of Thomson; wife, Mrs. Thelma Smith of Blythe; five sons, Curby Lee Smith, Jr., of Augusta, Wilford Mathis of Matthews, Ga., Charley Smith of Ft. Meade, Md., Cecil and Billy Smith of Blythe; seven daughters, Mrs. Mildred Davenport of Daggett, Cal., Mrs. Eloise Glass of Blythe, Mrs. Marjorie Canham of Medina, N. Y., Mrs. Lillian Cutrone of Blythe, Frances Betty Joyce and Jacquellin Smith of Blythe; brothers, William Smith of Thomson, Albert Smith of Warrenton, Milo Smith of Camak, and Lon Smith of Keysville; a half brother, Hubert Smith of Augusta; three sisters, Mrs. R. H. Ferguson of Edgemoor, S.C., Mrs. Fred Newson of Warrenton and Mrs. Mack Seals of Augusta.  Funeral arrangements will be announced later. (TAC)

 

Sarah Glover Smith, 2054 Central Ave., died 1-20-1963, in a local hospital after an extended illness.  Interment in Westover Memorial Park.  Born in Jefferson County, Ga., a daughter of the late James T. Glover and Mary Peebles Glover, she had lived in Augusta, Ga., most of her life.  She was the widow of Mahon T. Smith and member of the First Presbyterian Church.  Survivors include a daughter, Miss Dorothy Smith, Augusta; son, M. T. Smith, Jr., Green, S.C.; sister, Mrs. Alma G. Wren, Augusta. (TAC)
