Tender
Lou Anna Tender-Farmer, of Augusta died Feb. 1, 2007. A native of Jefferson County, she was the daughter of the late Berry and Ruth Tender of Avera. She attended high school in Sandersville and college in North Carolina. She was a member of the Ways Grove Memorial Aid Society. She was a member of Sand Valley AME Church where she was also the Mother of the church and worked on both the missionary and stewardess board. She was later baptized on Aug. 9, 2003, at Faith Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Allen Farmer Sr.; four brothers, Linzey Whigham, Lee Whigham, James Whigham and Dwille Neal; and two daughters, Catherine and Katrine Farmer. The funeral conducted at Stone Springfield Baptist Church with burial in Sand Valley AME Church cemetery. Survivors include eight children, Earline (Otis) Smith, Augusta, Henry Farmer Jr., Snellville, Elmer (Alma) Farmer, Duluth, Cora (William) Meriwether, Evans, Linzie (Deborah) Farmer, Winston Salem, NC, Bernard (Yvonne) Farmer, Glendale, Ariz., and Samuel (Phyllis) Washington, Snellville; three sisters, Idell (Oliver) Davis, Philadelphia, Pa., Sarah (Edgar Willie) Davis, Raleigh, NC, and Mattie (Willie Lee) Schofield, Union City.
