Emma Thompson, age 72, died at her home near Avera, 11-9-1930. Member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Avera, Ga., for 55 yrs. She is the wife of John Thompson; sons, John, Albert, Eugene Thompson; daughter, Mrs. R. W. (Ethel) Sheppard.
James F. Thompson died suddenly on May 31, 1938 at his residence. A farmer and a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. Member of Stapleton Baptist Church. Funeral services conducted in the Vining Cemetery near Stapleton, Ga. Survivors are: his wife, Betty Hilman Thompson; brothers, R. J. Thompson and W. D. Thompson both of Stapleton, Ga., G. S. Thompson of Dearing, Ga.; sister, Mrs. S. L. Irby of Wrens, Ga.
Lottie Mae Thompson,of Louisville died Dec. 17, 2006. A native of Jefferson County, a member of Hardeman Springfield Baptist Church, a Missionary, and a member of the Morning Star and Fair and Honest Societies. Funeral conducted at Hardeman Springfield Baptist Church and Cemetery. Survivors include her children and grandchildren that she reared as her own; Georgia Mae Stone, Doris (Willie Lee) Tennyson, Jennie Gamble, Oscar (Louise) Thompson, John Wesley Thompson, Louisville, Ronnie (Sophia) Thompson, Augusta; Horace (Marilyn) Thompson, Petersburg, Va., Diane Young, Louisville, Charles Tennyson and Charles Tennyson, Augusta. Davis Funeral Home in charge.
