Corporal Ervine R. Williamson, 25, died in Japan of gunshot wounds December 30, 1951, according to a telegram from the Department of Defense, to his mother, Mrs. Carrie L. Young of 1834 1/2 Pearl Avenue.  The telegram stated that a letter containing details of the death would follow. Corporal Williamson entered the service in August, 1949. He was a member of Battery D 250th AAA Gun Battalion of the National Guard. Prior to going overseas, he was stationed at Fort Custer, Michigan.  Survivors include his mother and  his sister, Mrs. H.R. Sanders of Augusta, Georgia; brother-Arthur Wesley Williamson of Augusta, Georgia; four nieces and several aunts and uncles.
