WRENS COCA-COLA BOTTLING COMPANY

In 1905, Mr. Crawford Johnson of Birmingham, Alabama opened the Wrens Coca Cola Bottling Company.  In 1921 the business was purchased by Mr. B. Bailey Florence, a son of J. P. and Nancy Parkman Florence.  Mr. B. Bailey Florence married Louise Sturkey.  After Mr. Florence's death the business was operated by his son, B. Bailey Florence, Jr. until it was sold to Thomson Coca Cola Bottling Company.

The bottling company was located on the property that was called the Joe Hadden Store building and was moved in 1929 to its quarters on Estelle Street, now occupied by Jefferson Cable TV Company.

Mr. W. J. Young graduated from Wrens High School and became a long time employee of the Wrens Coca Cola Bottling Company, amassing a record of many years with the company before his recent retirement.
