| * Central Baptist was located at the
corner of Williams and Frederick Street. The church was accepted
into Associational member in the 118th session at Duharts Church. In
later years the congregation affiliated Wrens Baptist and voted to move
the building to join the Baptist building on Barton Street and the Central
building afforded an entrance fronting Highway One.
The Parker family acquired the Central Church property and erected a home there, known as the Parker House. A son, Terrell Parker, moved to Florida in the 1920's and at his death left a sizable contribution for perpetual care find for Wrens Memorial Cemetery, where his parents are buried.
