Sheriff's Sale, Jacksonborough, Scriven County, the following
property will be sold, 100acres of land of Christie, the ponds
and Savannah River, take by virtue of two executions, the suit
of Charles Nesmith and William

up in Scriven County, a negro man named Ben, says he belongs
to Alexander McNair, South Carolina, near Camden.
The owner is requested to come forward, and pay dues to take

9-30-1840 - Jefferson
Sheriff's Sale - Will be sold on the first Tuesday in December
next, at the Market House, in the town of Louisville within
the legal hours of sale, three Negroes, to wit: Lydia,
a woman slave, and her two children, Augustus and
Henry. Also, a quality of Household Furniture,
consisting of Slab, Sofa, beds, and Bedsteads, Clocks, and
sundry other articles in the house-keeping line. Said
property, levied on as the property of Owen
McDermott, upon foreclosure of Mortage, of Sherrod

10-29-1842-Jefferson County Sheriff Sale, Held
December, first Tuesday at the market house, Louisville, Ga.,
one house and lot in the town of Louisville, adjoining lots of
R. A. L. Atkinson and others, levied as the property of
Benjamin Ayer, to satisfy a warrant in favor of Hugh
McNeeley verses Ayer. Also, four hundred
acres of pine land, lying on the north side of Ogeechee River,
adjoining lands of Womble and other, levied as property
of Maurice Walden, One negro girl, Patience,
three years old, levied as property of Maurice Walden,
and found in possession of Matthew Johnson, to
satisfy one fi fa issued from Washington Superior Court in

-Jefferson County, Ga - Whereas Thomas Matthews and
Charles Matthews, administrators on the estate of
Aquilla Matthews, deceased, apply for letters

Administrator's Sale - On the first Tuesday in December next,
will be sold, at the court house door in Warrenton, Warren
County, agreeable to an order of inferior court of said

late of said county, deceased; and on the 15th day of
November, at the late residence of said deceased, a portion of
personal property of his estate, consisting of cotton corn,

Superior Court-Pertition to Foreclosure Mortgage-Augustus
S. Jones vs. William P. Causseaux and
Mary Herrington. The principal, interest, and cost,
still due on a certain mortgage made and executed by the said
William P. Causseaux and Mary Herrington, in
favor of the said Augustus S. Jones, bearing date on
the 4th day of May in the year of the Lord one thousand eight
hundred and forty two for certain several tracts of land
containing together three hundred and fifty acres, situated
and lying and being in the county of Scriven, on Brier Creek,
bounded on the East by lands of Richard Herrington,
south by Brier Creek, and on all other sides by Lands of A.
S. Jones; being the plantation then rented to Elijah
Oliver for the said eighteen hundred and forty two.
The estate of Stephen Herrington was partitioned to the
said William P. Causseaux, in right of his wife and to
the said Mary Herrington. Members and
appurtenances to the tracts of land belonging or in any
wise appertaining origin default thereof that he be forever
barred and foreclosed of his equity of redemption in the said
bargained premises and that a copy of this rule be published
in one of the public gazettes or this State once a month for
court or served on the defendants, personally, three months
before the next term.

1-12-1849 - Jefferson County, Georgia- Whereas
Levin Arrington and Willie Arrington, executors on
the estate of Silas Arrington, by their petition laid
before the court of ordinary of said County, stating that they
had fully administered on said estate, apply for letters of
dismission thereon: These are therefore to cite
and admonish, all and singular, the kindred and creditors of
said deceased to be and appear at my office, within the time
prescribed by law, to show cause, if any they have, why said
letters of dismission should be granted. Given

11-8-1850- Georgia, Warren
County - In the Inferior Court of said county, sitting as a
Court of Ordinary, November Term 1850. The Petition of
James Chalker, of said county, having been heard,
showing that William Avery, of said county, departed
this life after having make and executed a bond, conditioned
to make to the said Jas. Chalker titles to a certain
lot or track of land in said county, containing about two
hundred and fifty acres, more or less, on the waters of Deep
Creek, adjoining lands of Carter and others, and
praying that Hiram N. Walker, administrator of
the estate of William Avery, may be required to make
valid titles to the premises, a copy of the said bond
having been filed with the aforesaid Petition. All
persons having any interest in said estate are hereby notified
to appear before this Court, in the time required by law, to
show cause, if any they have, why the prayer of said
petitioner should not be granted. A true extract from

the estate of Anna C. Bush and Thomas P.
Jones and Warren L. Jones: A certain tract of Land
in said county; bounded north by road running between said
tract of Land and land of William H. Goodrich and

filed yesterday in the Richmond County clerk's office.
Bessie M. Forbes, Charles C. Forbes,
Edna Forbes Johnston and George W. Forbes
sold to C. N. (Carpenter Newman) Arrington and
Madelyn (Lightfoot) Arrington $1,900 property
known as 829 Seventh street; and a lot known as 709 Taylor
street was sold by the same parties to H. S. Cook
for $1,100. Walter K. Whittle sold to L. T.
Barton for $550 property in Nellieville on the south side
of Mercier street.
