James T. Boyd   12-18-2006 91, of Stapleton died Dec. 18, 2006, at MCG Hospital in Augusta.  Mr. Boyd was educated in Stapleton Public School and a special course in farm management.  Served in the US Army as a tech sergeant in the 39th Photo Ren Squadron during World War II. A member of American Legion Post 229.  A retired farmer, rural mail carrier and security guard from Georgia Tennessee Mining and Chemical Corp. A member of Stapleton Baptist Church where he served more than 50 years as a deacon, Asst. Sunday School Superintendent and a clerk and treasurer. He was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Boyd, sisters, Nellie Boyd and Jenibel Boyd.  Funeral services conducted at Stapleton Baptist Church.  Interment in the church cemetery. Survivors include two sisters, Lillian B. Stacy and Julia B. Maher; a sister-in-law, Rebie Boyd.  James Funeral Home in charge.

Funeral services  January 14, 2008 at James Funeral Home Chapel. Burial at Stapleton Memorial Gardens.  Mr. Rooks was a retired supervisor at Stapleton Garment Co., a member of the Stapleton United Methodist Church and served in the National Guard. Survivors include his wife, June; son, Travis E. Rooks; a daughter, Faye R. Jones and her husband, Bill; two sisters, Sue Purvis, her husband, Weldon and Nelda Williams, her husband, Jimmy, a granddaughter, Kristy Jones and a sister-in-law, Doris Rooks. Mr. Rooks is preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Rooks. Note:  Mr. Rooks died from Cancer.
