William  R. Bankston's wife was Mahala Collins
Mahala Collins Bankston was born Sept. 26, 1817 & died Dec. 26, 1856
She is buried in Jackson City Cemetery in Butts Co.  William- Unknown
Sometime during the late 1870's the home of William R. Bankston on Second Street and Momosa Lane was purchased for the home of the circuit riders who made it Jackson Headquarters.

1.Leonidas Augustus Bankston  b. Aug. 28, 1838 & died June 5 1894.
He married Nancy Jane Beauchamp December 27, 1859.

At the January 1827 Term of Court; No.2 Abner Bankston was appointed as a Road Commissioner.

Abner Bankston married Sarah Turner April 19, 1836 in Butts Co. GA.

On the first Tax list of Butts County- 1828
In Captain Hendrick's District I find James S. Bankston.

The tax receipts of John M.D. Bond, tax collector for the year of 1831
shows Abner Bankston $10.54

In 1865 Abner Bankston was on the Grand Jury in September.
It was under this time that the South was under Martial law.

William R. Bankston was Clerk of Superior Court 1864
