Moran

Moran was named for Mr. Augustus Benjamin Moran, grandfather of Miss. Daisy Moran who lived in Moran in 1976. Moran was located on the M. & B. Railroad that ran from Macon to Thomaston. The original plans were to go from Macon to Birmingham, Alabama thus calling it the M. & B. Railroad. The Moran Post Office was opened in 1897 and was closed 15 October, 1955. A Star Mail Route by car served on the post office after the train was discontinued in about 1924 or 1925.
