__________
Crawford Superior Court, February Term 1831. The Grand Jurors, chosen, selected, and sworn for the county of Crawford in the discharge of their duties are happy to congratulate our fellow citizens on the peace, health, and prosperity existing among us. There are no serious violations or refractions of the Statutory Laws of our county that have come to our knowledge worthy of presentment nor but few bills of indictment. We are happy to find that litigation in our court is so much diminished as to enable his Honor to dismiss us at the early period. We have examined our county books and find that some balances are still due the county - and in these our presentments we notify the officers that they use more vigilance and --- industry in the discharge of their duties. We have examined our public buildings, and the Jail we find in a bad order and recommend that the debtor's room be repaired immediately. In these our presentments we would notify our court that we will be glad to see our court house completed and all the old standing debts against the county discharged as soon as possible and convenient. We recommend our road commissioners, generally to be more vigilant in the discharge of their duties as there are some vacancies where there are no overseers, particularly on the road from Colladinsville to CALHOUN's Ferry or a part of it.

We present our Town Commissioners for neglect of duty on the street in the Town of Knoxville. We allow the Tax Collector of our county as an insolvent list, thirty-two dollars and sixty-two & a half cent. The Solicitor also has our thanks.
