Mt. Paran Primitive Baptist Church
Crawford County, GA
This Indenture made this Seventh day of March in the year of our
Lord,
One thousand, Eight hundred and twenty four, between John A.
Tharp
and John Glover of the County and the State aforesaid , of the
one part ,
and Simon Parker and John Cowan and Peter Castleberry, as
Trustees
for that religious denomination called Baptists designed for a
place of
their worship. Excerpt from Deed

John Martin Blackstone
Was a member of the first Inferior Court organized in
Crawford County, as records will show, and at the first election held in
the county for Representatives to the Legislature or General Assembly,
he was chosen as their Senator. He was reelected annually for nine
successive years. |
