MRS. L. H. [Apsie E. Paul] CONE

Mrs. Apsie E. Cone, wife of Mr. L. H. Cone, died at
their home near Eureka, Dooly County, Georgia on
Saturday, August 25, 1888. She was the daughter of Mr.
Abel Paul, of Drayton, and was twenty-eight of age.
She united with the Methodist Church when only nine or
ten years of age. It was a sad multitude that gathered
at her funeral at Smyrna Church on last Sunday
afternoon. Written by E.M.Whiting

[Note: This obit does not say where she is buried. We
think but have not as yet found, that there is a Paul
Family Cemetery near Drayton. A Possibility ?

[Note: Another Possibility is HARMONY BAPTIST -SMYRNA
METHODIST CEMETERY listed as # 32 in Powell's Vol. II.
]
[Note: Helen Shirah Hudson and I surveyed the SMYRNA
METHODIST CHURCH CEMETERY [Church long gone] which is
across the road from the HARMONY BAPTIST CHURCH which
has a very large cemetery back of th church. We called
this cemetery the Harmony Baptist because the church is
there. Actually, the part that we surveyed was
originally SMYRNA METHODIST CHURCH CEMETERY and I found
a deed abstract to the church in Powell's Vol. I - Pg.
87
Deed Book "A" pg. 51 - Dooly Co., Ga. - Dated Sept. 22,
1847. William H. Wade to Thomas Mobley, Stephen
Harvard and Duncan L. Flemming, trustees of the
METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH SOUTH at SMYRNEE, Dooly
County, Georgia, three acres, in Lot 201/3rd Dist.
