HON. WILLIAM L. GRAHAM
Hon. William L. Graham, a prominent and useful
citizen of Dooly County, died at his home near Vienna on Thursday last, August
13th. He had been in feeble health for sometime past. Mr. Graham has held many
important positions in the gift of the people of Dooly. He was several times
elected sheriff, which office he filled eight or ten years and held at the time
of his death. He also served two or more terms in the Legislature.
THE HAWKINSVILLE DISPATCH - August 27, 1885.
Vienna, Ga. August 16, 1885: Death of Hon. William L. Graham. He passed away on
the night of the 13th inst., and was buried next day in THE CEMETERY near the
METHODIST CHURCH in Vienna, Dooly County, Ga. He was sheriff for at least 12
years, and a member of the House of Representatives, of the General Assembly of
Georgia.
[Note: Helen and I have been unable to locate a marked grave for Hom. William L.
Graham. Anyone having further info on his burial site, PLEASE RESPOND.

LITTLE ORA HEARD, d/o M/M J. P. HEARD
From: The Vindicator: Little Ora, the lovely daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Heard, of Vienna
died at Macon on
the 15th inst. She was on a visit to relatives in
Macon and was stricken with typhoid fever. The remains
were brought down and interred at the WHITEHEAD BURIAL
GROUNDS in Dooly Co., Ga.
[Note: Whitehead Cemetery is listed in Powell's Vol. II
as # 27, and being located North of Vienna on U.S.Hiway
41 on the west side, about half way to Pinehurst from
Vienna.
[Note: We have located this cemetery on the map but
have not as yet found the cemetery. It appears to be
quite a way off the road.]

A. A. Hill
On Front Page included in "LOCAL HAPPENINGS"
Miss Ellie Hill, who has been at home at Byromville,
for the past two weeks, returned to the city Monday,
and resumed her duties as teacher in the public
schools. Miss Hill has the sympathy of the entire city
in her sorrow, occasioned by the death of her father,
Mr. A. A. Hill, which occurred at Byromville some
fifteen days ago.
[Note: A. A. Hill - Born - October 8, 1864 -
Died - January 13, 1929 is buried in the Big Hill
Family Lot in SWEARINGEN CEMETERY # 7 in Dooly
Co., Ga.
beside his wife, Sallie Ray, wife of A. A. Hill [Oct.
19, 1869 - Jan. 14, 1918] [There are buried on Row
4-174 & 4-173]
