5th Battalion Georgia Infantry, State Guards, Company E,  “Dooly Volunteers” Organized August 1863 for six months as local defense in the southwestern quarter of the State of Georgia.
 
5th Regiment Georgia Infantry, Reserves, Company H, Bibb and Dooly  County, organized April-May 1864 at Camp Cobb and Camp Oglethorpe in Bibb County. Served until the end of the war.  Some of the soldiers in from the above regiments also served in other regiments.
 
12th Georgia Volunteer Infantry Regiment, Company F “Davis Guards” a/k/a “Brown Rifles”, Organized June-July 1861. Surrendered at Appomattox April 1865.
 
18th Georgia Volunteer Infantry Regiment, Company I “Dooly Light Infantry”, Organized August 1861. Surrendered at Appomattox April 1865.
 
45th Georgia Volunteer Infantry Regiment, Company C,  “Dooly Volunteers”, Organized late 1861-early 1862. Surrendered at Appomattox April 1865.
 
55th Georgia Volunteer Infantry Regiment, Company C, Organized 1861/ 1862. Captured in Cumberland Gap the summer of 1863; some exchanged and placed on detached service at Andersonville Prison in Georgia and Salisbury, North Carolina while others remained imprisoned in the North.   
 
60th Georgia Volunteer Infantry Regiment, Company G  “Dooly Guards”
Organized in the spring 1862. Surrendered at Appomattox April 1865.

They engaged the enemy at Fort Wilderness, Virginia on May 5th and 6th. They then continued on to Spotsylvania, Virginia, arriving there on May 8th. They again engaged the enemy on May 12, 1864 and again on May 18, 1864.  Then they left for Spotsylvania on May 20, 1864. Arrived at Anderson's Station, Central Railroad on May 23, 1864.  Engaged the enemy at Jericho Ford on South Anna River May 25, 1864. Marched near Richmond, Virginia, May 29, 1864.
