Abstracts by Marie DeLamar
It is apparent that some pages are missing from the front of this book. On the
spine
is printed BAKER COUNTY TAX DIGEST 1845. Pages are not numbered, but the first
page begins
with names beginning with the letter H. Toward the end of the book the alphabet
is mixed.
Writing is very bad and often faded. Some question marks will be noted where
proper
spelling is in doubt. Other names are spelled as written. The county in which
land
is located was not always given.
Baker County was created in 1825 from Early County and at the time of this tax
list
Baker included present day Dougherty County and parts of Calhoun, Miller and
Mitchell counties.
Stock means value of stock in trace (inventory of store, etc.)

If you are interested in adopting a county in Georgia, please let us know, we
have multiple county site options (more than one county website is ok with us).
Our goal is to get information online for (free) for our researchers use.
