FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE GeorgiaGenWeb Announced Camden & Charlton County Web PresenceGenealogy & History Internet Site (Free)09/22/2005 -- The GeorgiaGenWeb organization, located at http://www.gagenweb.org announced today their newly designed Camden & Charlton County combined web presence. Their spokesperson stated that although the coordinator did not live in either of the counties, if a person from that area wished to provide the service of webmaster or county coordinator, they would be welcomed. GeorgiaGenWeb (GaGenWeb.org) is a standalone organization with ties to the American History and Genealogy Project, Southern Folks.us, and other not-for-profit genealogy and history endeavors. Their goals are to provide genealogy and historical information to researchers at no charge, and to accept data from researchers that wish to share their knowledge with others. Particular emphasis is given to local history books and to their Military project site. Their military project site as well as their newspaper project are sites to be reckoned with. Watch for them to grow without the baggage that so many of the other genealogical organizations online have. This is a genuine effort to work together as a team and provide information to researchers. An inside source told us their mailing list has "no" arguing on it, only research tips, questions about sites and sharing of data between the workers. This is a far cry from what one sees in many of the online organizations. Expect good things from them once they get all their sites in place.
