Established 1853 from parts of Gilmer and Cherokee Counties.

| Cities in Pickens County are Tate, Talking Rock, Marble Hill, Nelson, Blaine and Jasper. Pickens County is named after Andrew Pickens. There are many picturesque views to be found in Pickens County, from the natural mountain lakes, mountains, to the roadsides that depict older times. A county that is growing quickly now but has managed to still hold onto to a great amount of its natural beauty. Pickens is renowned for its natural Marble. Recently having driven up to this area, we were very impressed with the beauty, the people, and the clean mountain air. The temperatures were quite a bit cooler than here, and we enjoyed the visit. |
