Survey Taken: January 16,1999

Historical Information about cemetery:
Mt. Nebo Methodist Church was an active church during the Civil
War and during this time a split occurred into North and South.
Some of the parishioners formed Gates Chapel Methodist Church.
Nothing remains of the site now except the cemetery where a number
of the community's earliest settlers are buried.
This information taken from the historical information provided
by Anita Summers for Gates Chapel United Methodist Church.
