Webster County was changed from Kinchafoonee in 1856, the 103rd county in the state. It is a small county in the southwestern part of the state. It is primarily an agricultural county with peanuts, corn, soybeans and grain being the main crops.  The county seat is Preston. The Probate Court has birth, marriage, death, burial & probate records, the Clerk of Superior Court has divorce, civil court and land records.
