Glynn County, one of the eight original counties of Georgia, was organized under the 1777 Constitution of the State of Georgia.  It was named in honor of John Glynn, a member of the British House of Commons who defended the cause of the American Colonies in the difficulties which led to the Revolutionary War.  Comprised of the lands formerly in the Colonial Parishes of St. David, St. Patrick, and St. James, which had been organized in 1758.

My name is Amy Hedrick, and I am your Glynn County host.  If you have any records that you have transcribed and want to share with this site, or you are working on a surname that you are willing to share info on or need help with, feel free to email me.  Please type up your documents the way you want them presented, that way there will be no misunderstandings, and I will post them as soon as I can.

You will find on this site records for more than just Glynn County.  In many of my endeavors, I try to include information from surrounding counties, as most of the folks traveled from one to the other during their lifetimes, and several folks can be found in Glynn County and Wayne and Camden Counties just within a few years.
