Eliza Kiker Stone MUSE ~ On Saturday night, February 13, 1909 at 8:00, God saw fir to take away from our midst our friend and neighbor, Mrs. Eliza Muse. Mrs Muse was a devoted Christian. She not only professed Christianity, but she possessed every trait belonging to a true Christian. She was kind, cheerful, ever ready to assist those in need. Mrs. Muse had been confined to her bed for four months before her death. She never murmured through all her suffering. I feel sure she is at rest. She leaves six children, five boys and one girl and a host of grandchildren and friends to mourn her loss. But our loss is her eternal gain. Her remains were laid to rest at Wesley's chapel. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Bro Reid. Her many friends and relatives who stood around her death-bed watching her quietly pass away without a struggle, she fell as it were in the arms of her blessed Savior, were made to feel that another saint had gone to rest. All earth's sorrows are now over and she waits for us afar for she whispered as she entered the pearly gates: "Fairwell dear friend, But not forever, I shall meet you by and by Where God's children dwell forever, In that home beyond the sky. One who loved her, Evie Fortenerry". {Calhoun Times, February 18, 1909}
