STOCKS, John. Born in Greene County, Ga. circa 1790. Son of Isaac Stocks Revolutionary Soldier and early settler. Younger brother of Thomas Stocks, who is said to be first child born around the time of the creation of Greene County. John married Nancy Fitzpatrick in Greene County in 1810, according to "The History of Greene County, Georgia". Have tried researching Stocks and Fitzpatrick for something after 1810 to no avail. FITZPATRICK, Nancy. Thought to be the daughter of William Fitzpatrick and elder sister of Benjamin Fitzpatrick, later Governor and Senator from Alabama. Nancy married John Stocks, son of Isaac Stocks and younger brother of Thomas Stocks in Greene County in 1810. I can find nothing about her since 1810. Can anyone help?

Jesse COULTER dead by 1796...I would like to know who the orphans of Jesse Coulter of Green Co Ga. He was taxed in 1887 and he also suffered losses from the Indians. When the town was burned. Was that town Sparta? He was dead by Jan 1796 when Daniel Hunt made application to administer his estate, which was Hancock Co by then. His orphans drew in the lottery of 1805. They were living in Hancock CO by that time. They did get a prize in Wilkinson CO, but Ga Archives states the land was not taken up. What were the names of these orphans? Who was his wife? Did he get killed by the Indians or was he the son who was killed by William Coulter (hanged in 1795 for murder). Rumors are that William's brother John was influential in his conviction. A John Coulter was JP in Hancock Co Ga late 1790s. Can anyone shed light on this mystery? Or have any further suggestions as to further records I can research. Any little bit of information is appreciated.

I am seeking info on the Cady PARKER who lived in Greene Co around the 1800s. Believe his son was Daniel Parker, also a George Parker. His daughter was Elizabeth parker who married William Steward/t. Daniel Parker and Wm Suard (sic) are found in Wilkes Co, GA, apparently given land grants for having fought in Georgia Militia. I feel that this area ultimately became Greene Co. Are there any extant marriage records for this area around the time period 1795-1796? I cannot find a marriage record for Elizabeth Parker and William Steward. I also believe a sister of Elizabeth was Phoebe Parker who married a Pierce, this family also living in Greene Co. I find them on tax records living very close to each other around 1799 and then later. Any help on these families would be greatly appreciated.
