Hopewell Methodist Church, located about a mile from Murrayville, off Ga. Hwy. 115...established in 1837, replaced by a modern brick one in 1972. My husband's great, great grandfather and his family are buried right next to the church. Rev. Samuel Jackson Stephens was a pastor at the church, he was a Justice of the Peace, a State Senator representing Hall Co., and he was a Major in the Civil War, serving in the 4th Ga. Calvary, State Guards (Blue Ridge Tiger Regiment)....
