Will of Ezekiel H. Adams -
Will Book A/81 Macon Co., Ga.
MACON COUNTY, GEORGIA - Last Will & Testament of
Ezekiel H. Adams, resident of said State & County.
ITEM 1 - Intending the Will to be a "final" disposition
of my
Estate, I hereby revoke any and all Wills heretofore
made by me.
ITEM 2 - I wish my Executor hereinafter named, as soon
as
possible after my death, to pay all my just debts.
ITEM 3 - I give to my wife, MARTHA ADAMS, for and during
her natural life, the following property to wit: My
Plantation known as the "Jones Place" situate in this
county, but
formerly Dooly County, on the east side of Flint River
and containing eight hundred Acres, more or less, also
three
mules,, twenty five head of stock hogs, and four cows
and calves, one yoke of oxen and cart. All to be
selected by her . Also my Horse & Buggy. Also four
feather Beds, Bedsteads and mattresses & bedding for the
same; to be selected and chosen by her, and such
household& kitchen furniture as she may require, to be
Judged of and determined by my executor and to be chosen
and selected by her.
Also the following named negro slaves to wit: List of 14
And upon the death of my said wife, all of the above
des-
cribed property and increase shall revert or come back
into my estate and to be equally divided among my legal
heirs.
And such shares or portions of said property named in
this
Item and the increase thereof as shall fall or come to
my
daughter (after the death of my said wife) to wit:
ELIZABETH MASSEY, (wife of George Massey) CELIA
(wife of Nathan Massey, CAROLINE, (wife of Thomas Lytle)
SARAH ANN, (wife of Appleton E. Shealy) and
MARTHA (wife of Martin L. Shealy) shall be the sole and
separate property of my said daughters, respectively and
their children (by these present or any future husband)
not subject to the debts or contracts of their present
or any
future husbands, but to be held in trust for the sole
and separate use, benefit & behoove of my said daughters
&
their children. Should any of my daughters died before
my
said wife, then their portion of said property to go to
their
children surviving them, then their share of said estate
in
remainder not to go to their Husbands surviving them but
to
return to my estate and be divided among my other heirs
ITEM 4 - Son, JAMES S. ADAMS - Land Lot No. 36/15th
Dist. Orig. Houston, Now Macon County containing 202 &
1/2 acres, one feather Bed, Bed stead, Mattress &
Bedding
for said Bed, also a portion of Household & Kitchen
furniture about equal in amount and quality & value to
the portion heretofore given off by me to my other
children,
also two cows and calves, a yoke of oxen & cart and two
sows and pigs.
ITEM 5 - Son WILLIAM ADAMS, my Land Lot 35/15th
Dist. Orig. Houston, Now Macon County containing 202 &
1/2 acres, also one feather bed & Bedding, one bedstead
& matress and a piortion of household and kitchen
furniture., also two cows and calves, a yoke of oxen and
ox cart and two sows & pigs.
ITEM 6 - I wish my Executor to keep together all the
rest of my restate both real & personal until by debts
are paid and the law suit (in equity) pending against me
in Macon County Superior Court in favor of Felix A.
Johnson, complainant, shall have been finally ended.

divided
among my children: John D.
Adams, James S. Adams,
William Adams, Joseph Adams, Daughters: Elizabeth A.
Massey, Celia Massey Caroline Lytle, Sarah Ann,
Shealy and Martha, . Shealy.
ITEM 7 - To Mary Ann Horne, the daughter of my wife by
a former husband, a Negro girl to be selected
ITEM 8 - Appoint my son, John D. Adams and my two sons
in laws, Nathan M. Massey & George L. Massey, Executors,
this July 25, 1861. Signed: E.
