To the Honorable Ordy of Paulding Co
We the undersigned Interested parties respectfully showeth to your Honor this our Counter petition in the matter of the road from Dallas to Acworth where it proposes to Cross little Pumpkin Vine Creek at Taunts Mill and beg leave to submit the following reasons. 1st There is so publick or private necessity for the change of said Road because the distance is very greater and more easily travailed at all times especially during high water when to change it above the Mill or down would render the road impassable in wet seasons
2nd because the road is as it now runs below the mill passes over more level ground and easier worked and kept in good condition
3rd Because the change it would necessitate the building of a bridge above the Mill at great cost to the County and the paying of damages to land owners
4th Because the olwer ford is best and the upper one in dangerous when water is up and the lower ford passable at almost all times
Wherefore we respectfully ask your Honor not grant any order changing said Road Respectfully submitted this 3rd Jany 1874
